Today Facebook rolled out a long awaited new feature; Facebook Reactions. While we still haven’t gotten the coveted “dislike” button, Facebook is hoping this brings a new form of personal interaction on the site.
With buttons like “love”, “haha” and “wow”, users can interact with friends’ posts in a new and personal way. To placate us with the lack of the”dislike” button, there is a “sad” reaction that will make interacting with a less than positive status or update, less awkward.
Product manager Sammi Krug says of the update:
“Every day, people come to Facebook to discover what’s happening in their world and around the world, and to share all kinds of things, whether that’s updates that are happy, sad, funny or thought-provoking….That’s why today we are launching Reactions, an extension of the like button, to give you more ways to share your reaction to a post in a quick and easy way.”
